Аraldite2020
Araldite 2020 is a low viscosity water white adhesive with a refractive index similar to glass.
Mixed 2020 is very thin, thinner than any other epoxy including Hxtal.
Very strong adhesive for porcelain, hard bodied ceramics and glass. Not recommended for bonding porous pottery bodies as the adhesive tends to be drawn in to the body leaving very little adhesive in the join. Can be used as a traditional adhesive or "run in" to previously taped cracks and joins.
Once mixed, at 23ºC, usable life of 100gm is about 45 minutes. Smaller quantities have a longer working time. Objects can be handled in around 24 hours and a full cure is achieved in around 72 hours at room temperature. Like most epoxies Araldite 2020 can be warmed slightly before use, this has the effect of increasing fluidity and decreasing curing time.
Araldite 2020 is also excellent for making coloured fills. By adding fumed silica, talc and pigments in the correct proportions a stiff translucent putty is made which is then easily pushed into cracks and joins. The putty can then be leveled and smoothed using a brush soaked in solvent , negating the need to sand or polish a cured resin and risk damaging the surrounding glaze.
Araldite 2020 can also be filled with powders such as our porcelain powder to make a very high quality casting resin.
